October is breast cancer awareness month, so I thought I’d
share some facts directly from The National Breast Cancer Foundation website.
-One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in
their lifetime.
-Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in
women.
-Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in
women.
-Each year it’s estimated that over 220,000 women in the
United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 women
will die.
-Breast cancer in men is rare, but an estimated 2,150 men
will be diagnosed with breast cancer and approximately 410 will die each year.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among woman not only
in the United States, but worldwide. Breast cancer is serious and it appears much too often in
women, so please get annual mammograms and it is recommended that you self-exam
at home at least once month. Our lives are far too valuable and delicate not to do our
best to stay healthy and do what we can to live longer, and happier lives.
Please take time to take care of yourself I know life is tricky and we get so
caught up in having to work and making sure everyone else is okay that we more
than often forget to take care of ourselves, so take a break and take care of
you, you’re important too.
